The Return of Cheng...

US Minors:
R - I missed this yesterday, but Chi-Hung Cheng made his seasonal debut on Monday (7/30) in the GCL. Limited to ~ 30 pitches, Cheng threw 1.1 innings and allowed 1 run on 1 hit, allowed 2 walks and a WP. Box
Cheng injured his shoulder last October, which required surgery to repair a torn labrum.

R - The Red Sox lost to the Pirates 4-3 in extra innings. CH Lin was 2-5 with a RBI, but more importantly, continued to flash his cannon of an arm by collecting 2 OF assists. Box

A ss - SA Kuo is pitching for Tri-City. The game is in the 1st inning. Box

A - Wisky lost 2-1. KH Lo was 3-4. Box

A+ - Kinston won 2-0. Tseng picked up win #4 as he threw 5 shutout innings - giving up 3 hits to go along with 3 K's and 1 walk. Box

AAA - Vegas is down 1-0 in the 2nd inning. Hu is currently 0-1 - he's facing former ML'er Chan Ho Park. Box
The MLB trade deadline has come and gone and Hu is still a Dodger - it looks like the organization will keep Hu as the long-term replacement for Furcal at SS. Hu will have some competition in the future from Ivan DeJesus - the highly-touted 20 year old.

NPB:
The Tigers prevailed 4-3 over the Swallows. WC Lin was 2-4 with a triple. Box

The Giants lost 5-1. Chiang pitched 2 shutout innings in middle relief - he allowed 1 hit and had 3 K's. Box

CPBL:
Whales 4 - Lions 3: The SP from both clubs were locked down in a tight duel that saw both players earn a ND. Wei-Lun Pan failed to win his 13th game of the season as he allowed 2 runs on 3 hits over 5 innings. For the Whales, Lorenzo Barcelo also earned a ND as he allowed 2 runs on 8 hits over 7 innings. Powering the Lions were: Tilson Brito who hit HR #26 (1-5) and KC Kao who was 2-4 with a double. The Whales Chin-Shou Shih earned game MVP honors for driving in the GW run in the bottom of the 9th - he came in the game as a PH.

Elephants 8 - Cobras 1: The Elephants received a strong starting performance from Yong-Chieh Yeh who won his 4 game of the year. Yeh pitched 5.1 scoreless innings, allowing 5 hits. He received plenty of run support from: game MVP Huai-Shan Chen, who hit HR #4 and was 2-5 with 3 RBI's, Chia-Chia who was 2-4 with a double and a RBI, and 2B Po-Jen Yang who was 2-4 with 2 RBI's. For the Cobras, CH Hsieh was 0-2 with 2 walks.
