CMW tied Josh Beckett for the Major League lead in wins at 17 as he shut down the Mariners offense. Wang pitched 7.1 innings, allowing 1 run (via a solo HR to Adrian Beltre) on 5 hits. Wang for the most part was on cruise control as he induced 17 ground outs vs. 3 fly outs. His pitch count was only at 86 before he got pulled (hopefully the move was only precautionary). The Yankees won 12-3. Box/Recap With the win, the Yankees snap a 2 game slide and go up 2 games on Seattle for the AL Wild Card lead. Wang's ERA on the season is now down to 3.68.
Here's a HC Kuo update. Although the latest news is that Kuo was placed on the 60-day DL. He felt sore after Friday's session thus nixing today's planned throwing session.

CPBL:
Bulls 2 - Bears 0: Bulls SP Chien-Fu Yang has been resembling his old self lately. Yang threw 5.1 shutout innings, allowing only 4 hits to go along with 5 K's and 2 walks. He picked up win #6 and game MVP honors. As for the hitters, Tarzan was 1-4 while CFC was 2-3.Elephants 11 - Cobras 3: The Elephants supplied starter Joey Dawley with plenty of run support. JD picked up win #8 as Chia-Chia, who hit HR #18 and Huai-Shan Chen (hit HR #5) supplied the power. The MVP of the game was Elephants LF Ming-Hsien Lin who was 2-4 with 2 doubles and a RBI - CF Cheng-Wei Huang was also 2-4 while driving in 2. For the Cobras, Yuan-Chia Chen hit HR #3 (2-3 with a double and 2 RBI's), while Wei Kao hit HR #9.

Even though Kuo said his elbow was sore and they scratched the pitching session tuesday- The club is still hopeful to see him in a game this year. looks like Kuo's rehab is doing pretty well. Guess we wont get to see Tsao until next year though. I just hope he gets some rest to makes sure that shoulder is 100 percent so he can come back healthy and ready to go next season. I believe they took out Wang in the 8th (though he only through 86) just because he's their ace. The yankees were already up by atleast 10 at the time and the Mariners had their good batters coming up in the lineup. I think they probably just took him out to award him with some rest for a good game played as well to not risk and unnecessary injuries to their ace. I think he'll get 20 this year..what do you think terror? Maybe he;ll beat his own record for Wins by Asian pitchers. I think he might even be able to get 21

turns out Wang had a little back soreness going into the eighth. Nothing serious. He iced it after the game and said he was feeling better. Torre and Guidry attributed the soreness to the 45 minute bottom of the 7th when the yankees rallied for a good number of runs. They dont expect the soreness to be anything serious at all- just a overlong inning.
Thanks for the updates...I think he'll get 19 wins for sure....20 might be tough...assuming the Yankees continue to pitch him every 5th game and are conservative in protecting his arm, Wang might have 4 starts remaining in the regular season. With his next start already mapped out on the 11th against the Blue Jays, Wang would probably then be matched up against the Red Sox, the Blue Jays again, and finally against the D-Rays.
So 4 games remaining to win 3 - it's doable, but Wang has had problems against the Blue Jays recently (0-2 on the season)and is pretty much undefeated against the Red Sox and D-Rays (if you take away his first 2 starts of the season). If Wang's healthy and the offense is clicking, he should win at least 2 of the 4 remaining games.
check this out...good news for Wang. Hes not pitching against the bluejays. He'll be pitching against the KC Royals on the 9th. Guess his stiffness was nothing serious at all. what you think about that terror? maybe 3-4 games eh
Wang turned in another brilliant performance last week, lasting into the eighth and allowing just one run against the Mariners. He left with one out in the eighth with stiffness in his back, but made no indications that he'd be anything less than 100 percent for his next outing. Wang pitches against Zack Greinke on the 9th.
