The NT's Future at the C Position...

With the La New Bears and Sinon Bulls threatening to keep their players away from the WBC, veteran catchers and NT members Feng-Min Chen and Chun-Chang Yeh may not be available come March. That leaves no depth behind Lions C and NT regular Chih-Kang Kao. UDN has a good look at four youngsters who may help to fill that void (amateur C Kun-Sheng Lin's name can also be thrown into the fray) and perhaps change the perception of a position that has been much-maligned offensively in international events(all 4 are in the winter training session):

L-R: Cheng-Da Wu (Kishu Rangers), Chia-Chu Chen (Red Sox), Meng-Hsiu Tsai (Braves), Chun-Hsiu Chen (Indians)

OTHER:
*Yung-Chi Chen tweaked his surgically repaired knee while taking infield practice.

*Jim Stoeckel (Reds Director of International Operations) is in town to check out SS Yen-Wen Kuo in practice.

*UDN is reporting that there are too many players (numbering in the 40's) trying out for the Japanese independent league.
