Tough Day on the Field.....

A few brief blurbs:

*At the LLWS, the boys faced a dominant lefty from Mexico before falling short 3-2, despite being one-hit (WH Sung's solo shot in the 6th) in the game.
Box
The team will now face a dangerous and exciting team in Curacao in one international semifinal on Thursday (ESPN 4 PM EST).

*At the Asian junior "AAA" championships, the junior NT lost 6-3 to South Korea in its opening game.

*WY Chen earned a ND despite allowing only 2 runs over 9 innings while K'ing 10.

*Former Ku-Pao HS LHP Kuan-Yu Chen turned down a $80,000 NT/month salary (a 1 year contract with no signing bonus) from the BayStars; he's currently being pursued by agent Chien-Chen Chen (Eric Chen).

NICE Rebound win by our boys today against Curacao as the won 5-2 thanks to very fundamentally sound Defense(especially from Lin at SS who has a great arm) and some great pitching from Ou Chin. They get to replay Mexico in the International Final. Lets hope they are out to get Revenge this time after Mexico's SP managed to no-hit our boys for 4 and 2/3 innings. Since Ou Chin just pitched today, my guess it that we start Sung Wen Hua. Lee CC didnt cut it last time against the Mexican bats so we dont really have much of a choice but to start our ace.

tough game to lose for our LL team. They did a great job making it to the LLWS championship, thats something a team from Taiwan hasnt done since 1996. Lets hope they can build on that and Taiwan can come back next year with another LLWS championship caliber team like they did this year. The team this year really surprised me with their talent. They are by far the most talented team I've seen us send in a long time so lets hope there is lots more of that in the coming years.

I didn't get a chance to catch any of the late games, but it's great to see them rebound against Curacao and Mexico. Being the international champs and the runner-ups of the whole enchilada is nothing to be ashamed of. Congrats to the kids for a great run at the LLWS this year!
